The most comprehensive bibliography to be published before 1801, completely replacing the earlier attempts of Labbe, Struvius and Banduri. Johann Christoph Hirsch (1698-1780) was, according to Engel & Serrure (3053), a “conseilleur aulique et inspectuer de la monnaie”. See also Clain-Stefanelli, Numismatics, p.25 .
