Original publisher's brown cloth, gilt; slight wear at extremities; endpapers slightly spotted. The very scarce third, and best, edition of Ansell’s important, critical and useful work, undoubtedly the most useful nineteenth century monograph on the subject. The author was an analytical chemist, and was employed at the Mint for many years.
